“Genius begins great work; Labour alone finishes them” these
lines by ‘Joseph Joubert’ have indeed stood the test of time. Stepping Stones
High School celebrated Labour Day on July 1, to express their gratitude towards
the support staff. A special assembly was conducted in Marathi in the presence
of the whole school. The programme commenced with the prayer song by the school
choir. The song was followed by a short skit by the primary students, which
taught us to respect labour. After that the principal addressed the gathering
in English and Hindi. This was followed by another song by the choir –“Saathi Haath
Badhana”, which described unity and power. The highlight of the function was a
song performed by teachers. It was the highlight of the function. The primary
pupils danced to the beats of the song “Hello Honey Bunny”. After that one of
the school maids took everyone by surprise when she expressed her gratitude to
the audience in English. This was followed by loud clapping and cheering by the
students. The function came to an end after sweets and flowers were distributed
to the support staff.
